The Woman by Picasso cache is located at the base area of Purgatory Ski Area at Durango Mountain Resort. It is easily reached by a short hike from the lower terminal of Chair 4, and in winter by snow shoeing from the base area. Ski-cachers have an easy time coming down Lower Demon. However, after snow falls, it is very dicey to find the cache; just enjoy the carving.
The coordinates are fairly accurate after settling down for a long time, but the tall trees will make your readings jump around. Take a nearby reading just outside the tree line and you can visibly find the cache.
You will see that some log cutter playing with his chain saw tried to imitate Picasso with his art work (see the photo gallery).
The initial contents are: Log Book, geocaching information sheet, plastic gold dollar, and Mustang Hot Wheels. For FTF, a small Dreamcacher charm.
