This cache is located in a lovely park in semi-rural Warner. It has great facilities suitable for almost everyone, especially family groups.
The cache is located in a park called the Frank Nichols Reserve, named after Frank Nichols who was a local landholder in the 1890's. We have driven past here on numerous occasions and of late I have thought it would be a great place to hide a cache. Today we stopped and checked it out and was pleasantly surprised at just how good the area actually was.
The area has lots of facilities, large amounts of open space and lots of shaded areas too. There are toilets, bins, an electric powered bbq, a drink tap / bubbler for both humans and their geopets, three covered picnic tables, a bmx bike track, two half basketball courts and hoops, a full size cricket pitch with net and wickets, and a variety of playground equipment for young and older geokids. There is even a creek / drain running through the park, separating the picnic area from the sports area.
The cache is a 200ml sistema container hidden towards the rear of the park, away from the main road. There is ample parking available, both off the main road, and in the nearby side street, which curves around and forms the eastern boundary of the reserve. We hope you enjoy this great park.
