Sly2’s second On Your Bike cache takes the walker or cyclist along rough track to the final site: the track is well defined but pretty rough in places. There are nice shady areas on a hot day, but these do get a bit boggy after rain. Fields all around have livestock in them so please keep dogs on a lead. All-terrain pushchairs should cope ok :)
There’s limited parking at N 51.41.315 W 02.14.173: please be considerate of local residents. As for the name, I’ve no idea why this is called Wheelbarrow Lane: I felt it should be called Butterfly Alley as we spotted a Comma, Gatekeepers and a Speckled Wood in the Lane, and then a Brown Argus and a Small Heath plus loads of Common Blue and Meadow Brown butterflies on the way back over the fields (see pictures in Gallery).
Enjoy the walk and the views which are spectacular: there are a variety of footpaths to take cachers on their travels from here. The cache is in a camo tube, well hidden at the time of writing (May) by lush vegetation. Beware nettles and thorns - I've tried to avoid them in siting the cache, but they do tend to grow :)
Congrats to diverdudes, first to find!
