While camping at Chief White Crane, we noticed a small
hand-written sign referring to the "Yankton Lake Loop" (4.5 miles
by the way) and asked one of the park employees for a map. No such
map exists.. We took it upon ourselves then, to walk the trail one
morning and find where it would come out on the other end. Along
the way, we enjoyed the scenery and wildlife and found it odd that
no geocaches had been placed along this trail (even though there
are several in the campground). We marked a likely spot, came back
the next day to check our coordinates and dropped off a mid-sized
Lock-N-Lock. Initial contents were: logbook, pencil, rain poncho,
calculator, small multi-tool, retractable cell-phone charger, CITO
bag and a Moose TB.
No guarantees on the winter friendliness of this cache, the hike
to the cache may be pretty long if you're not dressed for the
cold.
