Geocache Description:

Side note: I have moved from area and can not maintain it. However the point is to get people to view the area so I am not archiving. Located in a quiet rural village. There is a brief walk through the village; the terrain is flat. This is our first cache, hopefully more to follow. There are nettles on the path so shorts are not advisable. Depending on the time of year you will either come across cattle, horses or nothing in the feild.

Side note: I have moved from area and can not maintain it. However the point is to get people to view the area so I am not archiving. To get to the cache you have to negotiate a field with cows in the summer. There are 2 entrances from the road side, both are sign posted as a footpath. In the summer there is alot of nettles so long trousers are adviced The cache is a small lunch box containing bits and bobs. There is a log book and a pencil provided. Church History * The Anglican parish church is dedicated to St. Andrew and is built of green sandstone. * In White's 1872 directory, the church is described as "an ancient dilapidated building". * The church building was restored in 1878 by James Banks STANHOPE. * The church seats almost 100 people. Description and Travel Miningsby is both a parish and a small village in the Wold hills, about 6 miles southeast of Horncastle and 6 miles west of Spilsby. Winceby parish lies to the north, Hameringham parish to the northwest and Hareby parish to the east. The parish covered about 730 acres in the early 1800's (1,000 acres if fen allotment included).
