Geocache Description:

Situated in the beautiful East End of Glasgow, the twin towers dominate the skyline.

The cache is a plastic container with a logbook, objects and a newspaper article. You'll need to bring a pen for this one.

Description:
"Les Jumeaux de l'Est" known as "Whitevale and Bluevale" are outstanding Glaswegian architecture. Situated in the heart of the East End of Glasgow. One of the most fascinating parts of Glasgow because it has amazing character

Designed by Wimpey, approved in 1963, and built in 1968, they are the tallest standing structures in the city at 31 stories tall. They are also the tallest residential blocks in Scotland and also, until about 15 years ago, Europe. Although with the current cull of tower blocks in Glasgow speeding up, they might not cast their large shadow over Glasgow for much longer, as they are expected to pass away in the mid 2010s. Its construction was carried out by Thaw & Campbell.

Some may dislike them, but those with a different eye, will see the truth about beauty and the true color of Glasgow.

ALSO in the area...

DUKE STREET, DENNISTOUN: Have a wander about Duke Street. First you can check the Loudern Tavern (the rangers fans heaven), then Duke Street station (great spot for artistic pictures). You can then walk toward the city centre. The area has lots of nice wee local shops (lots of charity shops), cafes, pubs, art gallery and so on...

Wanting some organic food, halt at Tapa Cafe on Whitehill Street. Scotch pie addict? Grants scotch pies are just amazing, the bakers on Bellgrove Road. All these locals shops have stories to tell.

ALEXANDRA PARK: Named after Princess Alexandra of Denmark. Alexandra Park is a tranquil and beautiful park, popular with local residents. The highest of the point gives you a striking view. The main entrance is from Alexandra Parade.
