to bring your own data cable, as we may not have the one for every
variety of GPS receiver model.
THE GAME
The game is SCRABBLE.
You will need to find some caches in the woods while gathering
letter tiles along the way to produce your highest scoring
word.
RULES:
- Contestants will select 12 caches from among the set to go
find. They will then load the coordinates for those caches either
electronically or manually into their GPS. For those who can load
electronically, we should be able to provide the data
download.
- At 12:30 PM, contestants will be released to go find their
assigned caches.
- Upon finding a cache, contestants will retrieve one(1) envelope
from the cache, and rehide the container. Contestants MUST leave
the envelopes sealed.
- After visiting their twelve caches, contestants will return to
the pavilion to check in. At this time, the Games and Support staff
will check them in, verify that all envelopes have remained sealed,
open the envelopes, and mark each tile for the contestant.
- Contestants then go work through the tiles they have to create
the highest scoring word they can, as well as as many individual
words as they can with the letters they have.
- When time is called, contestants must turn in their words and
scores, so that they may be tabulated to determine the
winners.
