The Ten Peaks Series features caches on 10 mountains in the Kamloops-Interior area all of which require some hiking to the too of a peak.
Rockface Mountain rises between the Pinantan area and Harper Mountain. The vertical "face" of Rockface is on the east side, but the highest point is on the west side of the 3 "pump peaks" of the ridge.
To access Rockface Mountain, drive to Pinantan Lake and take the Pinantan-Harper Road as it climbs into the hills. The road can be rutted in the lower sections, but improves higher up. Take a right turn at N 50 43.075, N120 03.397 and continue to climb into the pass between Harper and Rockface Mountains.
The trailhead is marked by a cairn, then flags. Park and start hiking at N50 43.651, W120 05.410 The trail is short and steep to the saddle. Flagging tape helps when the trail is hard to see. Once in the saddle, the route to the east goes to the east peak and the Sky High Cache. The route to the west will take some route-finding. Follow the ridge to the middle "pump", but since the cliffs are too steep, veer to the north side and follow a rough trail as it winds up underneath the cliffs to the west. Stay high and then climb to the top of the ridge. Follow the top of the ridge west to the cache site.
The peak of Rockface is rarely visited. Viewpoints are few and there is no one single viewpoint at the peak. The cache is hidden a few metres from the highest point, not far from a cairn.
