Nice little cubby hole area behind an old part of Union City
Nice little landscaped cubby hole area behind Old Alvarado. It was kind of weird when I first found this location. It seems kind of out of place for the neighborhood. I also am not sure why it's landscaped given the area.
I had a tuff time getting here my first time. A GPSr isn't much help if you don't know where you want to go. LOL
Alvarado is one of 3 districts along with Decoto and New Haven that were brought together to make Union City.
Alvarado is credited for growing the Alvarado potato -- a popular produce described as a thick-skinned, mild white potato that may have been developed by Luther Burbank and the Sweet Alameda Corn Company.
