Geocache Description:

sweetpea3 & Gothicstorm with Love Is in the Air (GC1MDRC)

Why?

Gothicstorm and sweetpea3 have decided that there aren't enough quality, challenging caches here in South Florida and that only caches in Minnesota appeal to their cultured palates. They've decided to pack up their snickerdoodles and go live on the prairie in Lake Wobegon, where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above-average.

What?

In honor of their depature, we're having a going-away party for Gothicstorm & sweetpea3. (They tried this once already, but they forgot to make it a formal geocaching event!)

Plus, it's been quite a while since there's been a geocaching event here in Broward, so why not? If you don't have the Event Cache icon in your profile page yet, now's the time to come and get it. (Just remember to sign the log book at the event!) Don't forget to bring out your travel bugs and geocoins, especially if you've got any that need to go to the upper midwest!

Recently, Gothicstorm and sweetpea3 had their caching bags stolen from their car while they were out looking for Tupperware in the woods (they were carrying their GPS receivers with them at the time - thank goodness those weren't stolen!).

To help send them on their merry way and to wish them success in their new caching life, please bring to this event something to put in their caching kits. It can be anything at all that you think might be useful on the trail, such as a bottle of hand sanitizer, a rain poncho, a granola bar, a giant rubber spider, animal capsules that grooooow in H2O, or a Garmin Colorado.

Who?

Attendance at this event is strictly limited to people who meet zero or more of the following requirements:

  • You must be either a cacher or a muggle
  • You must have at least one vowel in your name
  • You must have been born on a day of the week that ends with the letter "Y"
  • You must be able to get to this event
  • You must be able to have fun with other goofy people

In other words, you, Dear Cacher! Bring your kids, friends, neighbors, and relatives ... cachers and muggles alike!

When?

Saturday, September 12, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. or until we all get tired of each other or whenever the owner or local law enforcement agency kicks us out (whichever comes later).

Where?

Landlubbers Raw Bar & Grill
In the Jacaranda Square shopping center
1851 North Pine Island Road
(at the intersection of Sunrise Blvd)
Plantation, Florida, USA

Landlubbers is a kid-friendly, pirate-friendly, and ninja-friendly establishment (no zombies, please). Happy hour specials end at 6:00.

We'll be in the big group room immediately to the left when you enter the restaurant.

How?

Miss Scarlet, in the Conservatory, with the Candlestick

Anything Else?

Yes, and I'm glad you asked. To indicate your intent to attend this event, please log a Will Attend log entry below instead of a Write Note log entry. I'll be using the number of Will Attends as an estimate of the size of our party for the restaurant when I make the reservation.
