Geocache Description:

Magnetic

Having "enjoyed" the caches set by dillonthedog we decided to set some of our own, especially as we now keep spotting railings when driving around!

The black and white iron fencing at road junctions and bends is a unique and distinctive feature of the county's highway landscape dating back to 1929. Time and road accidents have unfortunately taken their toll. They were introduced as a safety measure.

There is much debate amonst afficionados of this type of fencing as to whether the uprights should be one black and two white or one black and four white or like one I have seen which is all white or indeed all black like the ones at Jodrell Bank.

CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN WHEN SEARCHING AT THE SIDE OF ROADS

NO SPOILER PICS OR DESCRIPTIONS PLEASE
