The cache is located on a stretch of the 40 mile Clyde Walk Way, between the village of Crossford, in the heart of the Clyde Valley, and Mauldslie, near the village of Rosebank. The walkway is a well trodden path with sections of boardwalk and wooden steps.
Crossford lies on the A 72 Clyde Valley Tourist Route. Crossing the bridge from the A72 onto Braidwood Road (B7052), parking is available at Valley International Park N55* 41.699 W003*51.755, or Graham Road, off Braidwood Road at N55* 41.825 W003*51.879.
Entering the walkway route at the signposted gate, the cache site is a ten minute walk away, along the bank of the River Clyde. The cache can be found near the end of the boardwalk, where there is an information post for Orchard House. Be prepared to climb a steep woodland hill above the boardwalk. The cache itself, is a small plastic box containing treasures selected by the mini rocks, a log book and pencil.
The area is often busy with dog walkers and parts of the river are not fenced off, so please take reasonable care.
I chose this cache site, as I spent my youth in Crossford....aahh....the memories!
