Geocache Description:

This is a small size cache off the Creekwood Lake Trail in Brazos Bend State Park. It is a hike but it's worth it. I love Texas Hold'em so this is a series of 6 caches with a poker theme. To get all six of the Poker caches will require a 4 mile roundtrip hike from the parking area in the Burr Oak camping area. You can get to the caches by bicycle as they are not far off the trails. Equestrian cachers can access Creekwood Lake Trail by Bayou Trail by Sawmill Trail.

The cache is a small plastic cylinder painted brown. Star Trek Romulan Light for the First to Find. Original contents include Miniature Pewter Star Wars Emperor figure, floating keychain, Mini Plastic Romulan Warbird ship, reflector, superball, poker chips, and, of course, an alligator or two. You will need to park in the Burr Oak camping area. There are a few general parking areas in the camping area at the trash containers. The one at these coordinates ( N 29° 22.803 W 095° 35.503) is closest to the beginning trail you need. Take the Roadside Trail along the bridge of Big Creek then cross the road to the left to enter the Bluestem Trail. Take the Bluestem Trail approximately 0.67 miles to Bayou Trail then take the Bayou Trail to the Creekwood Lake Trail. The Bayou Trail and the Creekwood Lake Trail are not on the facilities map. You need to request a trail map from the rangers where you pay to get in the park or print it from here: (visit link)

Be careful. There is poison ivy, poison oak, thorn vines and other uncomfortable vegetation on and off the trail. Use a stick to clear away spider webs in front of you first and to examine holes. Don't stick your hand in a hole. Watch for alligators, nesting or being protective mothers. Bring mosquito spray and plenty of water.

The proper permits have been approved for this cache. You will need to pay the fee to enter the state park in order to find this cache. There's a lot to do in Brazos Bend State Park so take your time and enjoy your visit.

Congratulations to CachinSpree and c-hawksearcher for First to Find. Glad you boys got your exercise today, lol.
