Geocache Description:

A short family friendly hike between some woods and a playing field.

Many years ago, the comptroller of a company that I worked for was a very bright young man from Jamaica. He was very anxious to be a part of the gang, and made a point of joining us doing all the after work activities that the twenty-somethings did. Chris was acceptable at softball, quite good at bowling, a disaster at ice hockey, an awesome road rally navigator, and so on. One day he challenged a few of us to join him and his friends at their sport - Cricket. A couple of us accepted, and it must have been a sight to see. They were all wearing their whites, shouting strange expressions, cheering politely and then there were us. For two hours we gave a valiant attempt at it, but sadly contributed very little to the cause. Everyone then gathered around for some adult beverages, which was a fitting end to my one and only attempt at the sport. This cache is available only during park hours when the gates are open. The normal operating hours for management and operating staff are 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, 7 days a week, however the various playing fields are available for booking, and are often used late into the evening. The lights can be seen from a few miles away, which would indicate the park is still open. The park is closed for sports activities from December 1 - March 1, HOWEVER there are usually maintenance staff on hand throughout those days as well, and if you drive by and the gates are open, we have permission to go geocaching.
