Geocache Description:

This is a nice little hike up a well maintained trail that is marked with blue blazes, past a stream, across a rock garden, through the woods for a ways, then finally up a steep climb (a bit rocky) to the memorial site for an Air Mail Pilot that crashed in the 30’s.

At the cache site, you will find the memorial of the James Cleveland crash site. On May 24th, 1931 James (Jimmy on the memorial obelisk) Cleveland died in a plane crash. There is a stone tower constructed there with some metal remains of the wreckage.



A small plastic container holds the log book and some trade items. The FTF may select one of these items as a FTF prize.

This cache is located in Bald Eagle State Forest and placed with DCNR permission.
The roads are not maintained during the winter months.
Please wear orange during the hunting season.

Note: the best gps reception I could get at GZ was about 20 ft. accuracy. Use the hint for a quick find.
