Springhill Meadows is the uppermost
part of Falsgrave Park`s five hectare community park, with lots to
see and do. Further down the hill from the meadow you will find a
woodland walk, an 18th century Franciscan conduit house and one of
the best play areas in Scarborough.
What could be more evocative of the english countryside than the
quiet sounds of the insects at their work among the rich colours of
meadow flowers and grasses ? This was the vision of the Friends of
Falsgrave Park in 2004 , when along with Scarborough Borough
Council`s Parks and Countryside Services they created this
beautiful wildflower meadow and hedgerows. This area is people
friendly too, with grassy play areas, picnic tables, carved log
benches, an orienteering course, a totem pole and even a stone
circle!
