Il Canyon del Bletterbach unico in Europa, permette uno sguardo affascinante nel “medioevo geologico” della nostra terra. Nel canyon del Bletterbach ci sono pietre di tutti i colori e di tutte le dimensioni, in cammino da milioni di anni. Che cosa hanno da dirci? Le rocce del Bletterbach testimoniano le condizioni di vita sulla nostra terra 250 milioni di anni fa e danno delle informazioni importanti sul clima, sulle piante e sugli animali che vivevano in questo periodo. Il Geoparch Bletterbach permette di guardare dentro la montagna, nel mondo delle rocce. Questo canyon è il risultato della disgregazione e dell’erosione degli elementi. A partire dall’era glaciale, circa 15000 anni fa, il Bletterbach si è scavato una via lunga 8 chilometri e profonda 400 metri nelle diverse ere geologiche. Qui gli strati di roccia sono intatti e ben visibili, più che in ogni altra parte delle Alpi. Negli strati di arenaria della Val Gardena sono state inoltre trovate XXXXX. Le tracce ben conservate di piante, i numerosi resti di pasti animali e le buche scavate nel suolo testimoniano il mondo vegetale e la vita della terra. I fossili dei sedimenti marini come ammoniti, gasteropodi e YYYYYY raccontano la vita dei mari tropicali dell’epoca. Chi fa un'escursione lungo il Bletterbach, fa nello stesso tempo un viaggio a ritroso al tempo dell’”antichità” e del “medioevo geologico”. Le 16 tavole lungo il sentiero che parte dal parcheggio del centro visitatori informano il visitatore sui punti più interessanti dei diversi strati di roccia. Una guida geologica cartacea, disponibile presso il centro visitatori, accompagna e spiega il percorso. Il tragitto nella gola non presenta particolari problemi per escursionisti esperti dotati di buone scarpe da montagna. In caso di pioggia, freddo e temporali, l’escursione alla gola è fortemente sconsigliata per il pericolo della caduta sassi. Il sentiero nel bosco parte sempre dal parcheggio del centro visitatori e porta alla malga Lahner, per poi tornare al punto di partenza; è adatto a tutti gli escursionisti sia bambini che anziani . In the canyon of Bletterbach there are stones of all colors and all sizes, on the way for millions of years. What can they tell us? The rocks of Bletterbach witness the conditions of life on our earth 250 million years ago and give important information on the climate, plants and animals that lived during this period. The Bletterbach can look inside the mountain in the world of rocks. This canyon is the result of the disintegration and erosion of the elements.
