Observo que su cache permanece temporalmente desactivado durante demasiado tiempo. Una desactivación temporal no debería superar tantos meses. Si este geocache realmente va a seguir desaparecido yo no puedo seguir teniéndolo publicado en geocaching.com, esto impediría que no pueda aprobar futuros caches de otros miembros que se coloquen en las cercanías de éste, ya que según las normas de geocaching.com no se pueden esconder caches a menos de 161 metros de otros caches publicados en la web. Por esta razón le archivo el cache en su lugar.

Por favor, si tiene la intención de reparar este cache hágamelo saber y se lo volveré a activar, gracias a su esfuerzo muchos geocachers podrán volver a disfrutarlo. Geocache Description:

El monumento al pastor ocupa un escenario bravío en la antesala del desfiladero de Pancorbo, que ha sido tradicionalmente la puerta de Castilla.
En los tiempos del desarrollismo, cuando la nacional uno nos devolvía cada verano la copiosa emigración dispersa por Europa, Cataluña y el País Vasco, este paraje se convirtió en un hito de parada obligatoria. Y así permanece en la memoria de la diáspora y como fondo de tantas fotografías nostálgicas.

EL DIENTE DE NAPOLEÓN.

El peñasco del que emerge el monumento es mencionado por los viajeros franceses del diecinueve como diente de Napoleón. Se trata de un risco solitario que se anticipa a la barrera de los montes Obarenes.
El conjunto escultórico es obra del taller de Víctor de los Ríos, un autor que en esa década del incipiente turismo repartió por el país otros monumentos dedicados a oficios: al Maestro, en el parque del Oeste de Madrid, o al Minero, en Linares.
Aunque su especialidad siempre fue la imaginería de Semana Santa, en la que logró indudable crédito. Este monumento fue el primero dedicado a la figura bucólica del pastor. Más tarde se hizo otro en Navarra al que le dan todo el pote que aquí se escatima.
Seguramente porque lo inauguró Franco el 1 de octubre de 1961. El impulso para erigirlo surgió de un trágico suceso: la muerte por un rayo del pastor palentino Esteban Flechillas cuando escapaba de una tormenta con un corderillo recién nacido sobre sus hombros. Aquella España que abandonaba el campo a toda prisa se conmovió con la crueldad de la noticia. Evocando aquella imagen, un pastor de siete metros calzado con abarcas acuna en su regazo a un recental.
A su lado, está el perro que es un mastín de los que echan para atrás a la camada de lobos más hambrienta. Más próximo a la carretera, el zagal saluda sonriente a los conductores con su gorra al aire.
La roca que fija el escenario esconde en su oquedad un nacimiento anunciado por ángeles músicos desplegados por el muro.
En los últimos años nuevos monumentos pastoriles han brotado por la geografía regional: en Tremedal (Ávila), en Tejerina (León) y en Romanillos de Medinaceli (Soria).

COMO LLEGAR
El monumento al pastor se encuentra en el kilómetro 307,5 de la Nacional- I, entre Ameyugo y el desvío hacia Encío, a la salida del desfiladero de Pancorbo en dirección a Miranda.

QUE ENCONTRARÁS
A espaldas del risco que protege el monumento se extiende una zona recreativa muy cuidada. Varios chozos con techo vegetal adornan la pradera arbolada. En el entorno hay restaurante y camping. La ruta se dirige a Encío y vuelve al monumento, desde donde se acerca a Ameyugo.

The monument to the shepherd occupies a scene fierceness in the anteroom of Pancorbo's gorge, which has been traditionally the door of Castile.
In the times of the development, when the nacional one was returning to us every summer the copious dispersed emigration for Europe, Catalonia and the Basque Country, this place turned into a milestone of obligatory stop. And this way it remains in the memory of the diaspora and as bottom of so many nostalgic photographies.

NAPOLEON'S TOOTH.

The crag of the one that emerges the monument is mentioned by the French travelers of nineteen as Napoleon's tooth. It is a question of a solitary crag that is anticipated to the barrier of the mounts Obarenes.
The sculptural set is a work of the workshop of Víctor de los Ríos, an author who in this decade of the incipient tourism distributed for the country other monuments dedicated to trades: to the Teacher, in the park of the West of Madrid, or to the Miner, in Linares.
Though his speciality always was the imagery of Holy Week, in which it achieved undoubted credit. This monument was the first one dedicated to the bucolic figure of the shepherd. Later there became different in Navarre the one that they give the whole pot that here is curtailed.

HOW TO ARRIVE
The monument finds the shepherd in the kilometre 307,5 of Native - I, between Ameyugo and the detour towards Encío, to the exit of Pancorbo's gorge towards Elevated place.

WHAT YOU WILL FIND
Behind The crag that it(he,she) protects the monument spreads a recreative very elegant zone. Several chozos with vegetable(plant) roof adorn the wooded meadow. In the environment there is restaurant and camping. The route goes to Encío and returns to the monument, from where it(he,she) approaches Ameyugo.
