This cache is located in the Sand Point Nature Preserve, which is
owned and maintained by the Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy. This
preserve is 139 acres located in Caseville Township along Wildfowl
Bay.
The cache is slightly offset. The coordinates will take you to the
Land of Oz. As you sit in the Land of Oz you will find the cache
hidden about 20 ft away, in front of you, on the left side, in a
very typical hiding spot. It shouldn’t be hard to find.
Please be sure to cover/conceal it completely when you replace
it.
This cache was placed with the permission of, and in collaboration
with, SBLC personnel.
No bushwhacking. Please stay on the marked trails. Please be
respectful of the area. The SBLC has been very generous in opening
the nature preserve to caching. Let’s make sure we do our
best to take care of the area.
Comprised of mostly wetlands (over 50%), the preserve is the last
large undeveloped parcel on Sand Point. It provides an important
habitat for migrating birds, serves as an estuary and nursery for
Saginaw Bay fish, and contains rare species of concern, such as the
bald eagle and marsh wren. A great variety of birds, animals,
insects, plant life and fish make their home on the Sand Point
Nature Preserve and its waters.

A little bit about the SBLC
The Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy works to maintain the quality of
life in the Saginaw Bay Watershed through the preservation of
important wetlands, waterways and land of all types.
Many of the lands they focus on are home to wetlands, which provide
many benefits, including preservation of water quality, reducing
sediment entering rivers and the bay, providing a barrier to
erosion along shorelines, helping with flood protection, and
providing the beginning of the food chain.
