Geocache Description:

A simple cache with a very pleasant outlook down beautiful Bowenvale.

This cache is located on a rocky outcrop about halfway up the valley and just off a difficult downhill mountain-bike track. Park in the carpark at the end of Bowenvale Ave and begin your 30 minute hike up the Bowenvale track to the GZ. Take the track up the east side of the valley just after the third bridge. Caution: Bowenvale is a downhill mountain biking mecca so please keep your wits about you both on the track, and nearing the GZ. Downhillers are crazy and fast so listen out for the squeal of disk brakes and always stay on the inside of bends. As you get to the GZ you will notice the planting efforts of volunteers aiming to restore the valley to its former forested state. There is no need to pass through the plantings. The cache can be reached by deviating only a few metres off the downhill track.
The cache is a black painted screw top container. When placed it contained;
- dessicant
- logbook
- pencil
- sharpener
- assorted TBs and a GC
- for the FTF, a digital camera (don't get too excited, its got less memory than a singing birthday card, but the SD card on which I placed the driver is a good score).
