-->CONGRATS TO HAPAXES FOR THE
FTF!<--
PLEASE RESPECT THE SPIRIT OF THIS CACHE SERIES!!!
FTF (first time find) reserved for a First Time - FTF geocacher.
Please do not hunt this cache until a newbie without an FTF finds
it! Then - it's open game! All ratings & hides are made with
newbie geocachers in mind.
FT-FTF = First Time - First To Find
Welcome to a new series of 7 geared toward the newbie geocacher. It
seems like the first year I was geocaching it was very difficult. I
never met anyone that cached - the whole hiding process never made
sense to me - and the ratings mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for
someone just starting out. In my first year of geocaching - I
logged two DNF's and one find! It was pretty frustrating. Since
I've hit 100 finds - I feel like I understand this whole game now.
I wanted to give something back to all those newbies coming in
behind me - thus was born the FT-FTF series. Here's how it works.
The first to find in this series is reserved for someone who does
not yet have an FTF. Once a newbie FTF finds it - the cache is open
game. Each cache will contain a prize for the FTF. The prizes for
this series are all items that the newbie cacher will need to hunt
or place geocaches. So when you drop something off - keep the theme
going. Leave some seed caches, tools, or something in the same
spirit.
FT-FTF Cache Prize: 7" Magna-Lite flashlight w/pouch. If
you're out geocaching - you better have a flashlight. Even if it's
daylight - you never know what dark hole you'll need to look into.
This flashlight is powerful enough to handle any job but small
enough to throw in your pocket and forget about until you need it.
And - they're practically indesctrucible!
Meaning behind this cache: Lisle is the 2nd place I ever
lived - so it's appropriate that this is the second in the FT-FTF
series. If you've ever lived in Lisle - you either lived in Four
Lakes, knew someone who lived in Four Lakes - or hung out at the
pub. My brother has lived here for almost 15 years and he lives
just up the hill from this one. So if you see some guy watchin you
- it's Thospants. There is plenty of parking and a stone trail
leading to the general area.
For all you experienced Cache Hounds - I've already prepared cache
#1 in the Pro series. Hang tight - only 5 more of these to go! If
you play nice - I promise you'll enjoy the next series with some
cool prizes. I've already gotten some feedback that the newbies
really enjoy this!
