En liten väg med parkeringsplatser i änden leder från Eckerölinjens
färjeterminal i Grisslehamn fram till Skatudden. Här möts man av
den fantastiska utsikten över Ålands hav och sten/klippstranden är
en utmärkt picknickplats. På sommarhalvåret är det inte ovanligt
att få se människor med staffli försöka fånga havets
skiftningar.
De gamla militärbunkrarna utmed sluttningen ner mot havsstranden
utgör en spännande plats för både barn och vuxna att utforska, de
flesta är låsta men andra är nedgångna med trasiga fönstergluggar
så viss uppsikt över barnen kanske är motiverad.
I närheten av parkeringsplatserna har en klättervägg för de hugade
byggts upp i anslutning till en av bunkrarna. Lokalen är också en
välkänd utkiksplats för fågelskådning och särskilt på hösten kan
den ornitologiskt intresserade få kikaren att gå varm medan de
sträckande fåglarna på väg österut fyller himlen.

A small road with parking lots in the end leads from
Eckerölinjens ferry terminal (ferrys going to Aland Islands) in
Grisslehamn to Skatudden. Once there the view of the sea between
Aland Islands and Sweden is magnificent and the seashore, which
mostly consists of stones and rocks, is an excellent place for a
picnic. In the summer it is not unusual to see artists painting
here.
The old military bunkers along the slope can be exciting to
investigate for both young and old. If you bring children there are
reasons to be careful though because even if most of the bunkers
are locked some have broken windows and children may hurt
themselves while playing there.
Close to the parking lots there is a wall for climbing for those
who are into that kind of activities. The place is also recognized
among bird wachers to be a great locality watching the birds
migrate to the east in the autumn.
