Geocache Description:

UPDATE 3/23/2012: We have relocated the cache to a location proximal to where we intended the cache to be. Cache is still functioning but is due for maintenance. Look forward to new duct tape covering!

This is our very first cache. It is a 40 oz plastic jar covered in black duct tape.

Fun fact about fig trees (brace yourself)
Female wasps are responsible for the development of fig tree fruits. The female fig wasps tunnel into fruits in order to lay their eggs and in turn, pollinate the flowers on the inside surface of the fruit. After laying her eggs, the fig wasp dies and its body is converted into nutrients for the fruit. It's also important not to get too bent out of shape over the possibility of accidentally eating the occasional insect. The dead wasps were just playing their vital ecological role. There are 900 species of fig wasp, and each is responsible for pollinating one or two species of fig plant. Without these tiny insects, there would be no figs -- and vice versa. For easiest access, enter from Becado Place(N 37° 31.665, W 121° 55.480). However, the trail can also be accessed from Gallegos Avenue and Laurel Glen Common. If you have the time, I would recommend you to walk through this short but serene path which connects to Paseo Padre. This place is one of the “hidden trails” that elude even the eyes of locals.

Caution: Poison Ivy can be found off the trails so if you do take a walk, I suggest you stay on the path. Fortunately, there is no poison ivy near the cache location. Good luck and happy caching!
