Geocache Description:

Belmont never quite gave up the Ghost.

Located in the Toquina Range, along state route 82 between Tonopah & Austin, it was once the seat of government for Nye County. In the 1870's this thriving mining camp had a couple of stamp mills, several stores and two newspapers to serve it's population. Today it lingers with a few year-round residents, a couple shops, two old saloons and a Bed & Breakfast.

We spent half the day wandering around to explore the area and take advantage of the great photo opportunies. After visiting the old courthouse we checked out the antique store, a little rock shop and had a cold beverage at one of the saloons. There we chatted with a few locals who were happy to share some history for this interesting old mining town.

There were no geocaches here in Belmont so we hid a few. Hope you enjoy wandering around town as much as we did. You are looking for an ammo can filled with the typical geo-swag.
