Geocache Description:

This cache meets State Forest guidelines.

The Northern Cardinal has a pointy crest on its head and a triangular red bill. It can be found in woodlands and in gardens. The male is entirely red except for its black face; the female is a greenish brown with red beak, wings and tail. The cardinal whistles its merry "whoit-whoit-whoit" even during the winter. It eats insects, seeds, wild fruit and grains.
