Geocache Description:

Situated in the newly created "Pick Triangle Wood".
This is the first cache to be placed at this location.
The approach to the cache is a gentle inclined footpath followed by a steep slope which may involve scrambling.
The views from the cache location are simply stunning on a clear day. When the cache was placed we were treated to a flyover by the RAF Red Arrows display team in their BAE Hawk aircraft (with full smoke on). Obviously you won't get that on your visit to the cache but its still worth the walk.

The location is a spoil heap formed from the clay extraction at this location for it fine clay used for pipe making which Swadlincote is famed for. Wraggs pipeworks was just down the road where the new supermarket is now. The chimney still stands today and can be seen towering over the supermarket.
