I discovered this nature trail at Water Tower
while looking for a cache in the Mission Impossible series.
I finally got around to exploring the trail and it is a nice
little trail that may be also used for cross country skiers. As you
pull in the parking lot, you will see a pavilion. The start of the
trail is to the left of the pavilion.
As you start the walk to the cache, you might be tempted to take
the "as the crow flies" path through the tall weeds. Don't even
think about it as the weeds hide a small pond and you'll end up
into the drink ;) Just stay on the trail and it will eventually
take you around to near the cache, which is near the spot that I
took the above photo from. I hope you enjoy the walk. Be sure to
bring bug dope and watch for ticks. I didn't have a problem placing
this cache as it was cool autumn-like weather when I made the
placement. But if it is hot and muggy out, the potential is there
for the nasty blood suckers that can eat you alive ;)
On your way back to your car, check out the Mission Impossible
Level 2 cache owned by the FunkyFinderz near the parking lot. Then
when you find that one, go check out the rest of the caches in the
awesome Mission Impossible series located all over Marinette and
Menominee ;)
Winter friendly rating: Getting there is not too difficult
if the snow cover is not high. Can be done with snowshoes or cross
country skis. Not sure about ground zero.
