At the Lessor's Quarry in the islands region of Lake Champlain.
This cache is located at the Lessor's Quarry (no longer active) owned by the University of Vermont. The quarry itself is really only used for UVM's Geology classes these days, and when you approach GZ you'll see why. A sign near the entrance to the quarry notes that 450 million-year-old fossils can be found at the site, in fact they can be found all over the site.
The cache itself is in a Ziploc-made container, regular sized, and is not located in the quarry itself but more to the side a bit. It is NOT handicap accessible but the terrain isn't very rugged. Careful not to step on the cache! Rehide as you found.
A special safety note: If you choose to explore the quarry, AVOID THE WEST WALL! This is the wall to your right as you enter the quarry. All of the loose rock at the bottom of the face is there for a reason, the west wall is extremely unstable. The best places to look at the wall up close are where you can't see loose rock above you. The north wall is the best to look at, it's the one pretty much straight ahead of you that has a big "Lessor's Quarry" plaque mounted on it.
This is my first series, in fact this is my first cache. Caches in this series will be placed in areas of Vermont that remind me of why I love being here. I Heart Vermont.
