Geocache Description:

This cache is in the Yellow Wood State Forest. It is near a small pond on the top of a ridge. Bushwhacking and hill climbing are required but you will see the seldom seen beauty of this area.

This is the story of a heart shaped stone called the Tear Trap. A young pioneer couple settled here in the early days of this state. They were very happy until the woman lost her husband in an accident as he was felling trees for their home. She found his loss unbearable and she was wasting away in grief. One day as she was walking through this lonely woods weeping she saw a heart shaped stone. She sat on the stone and as her tears fell on the stone she felt the crushing grief lifted from her and in its place acceptance of her loss. She happily went to her friends and told them of this miracle. They all knew people who were suffering from the loss of loved ones and the story of the stone spread. People came from far and wide to visit the stone and shed their tears upon it. In time so many tears were shed that a small pond covered the stone. The people relieved of their grief left gifts for the young bride who had lost her husband and in time she grew wealthy and moved away. People forgot the Tear Trap stone and today it still sleeps quietly at the bottom of the pond.
I put a cache here so that others can enjoy this tranquil spot. The cache container is an ammo can.

Congrats to Ponce & Beav on the FTF! I'm glad you enjoyed the Tear Trap.
A special tribute to the Beav, one hard caching lady. Way ta go girl !
