Framtiden då ?
Just nu är den stora parkeringen framför Polishuset avstängd i väntan på byggstart av det nya Rättscentrum. En byggplan som inte har gått helt smärtfritt då det har överklagats i omgångar.
Polishuset består idag av två huskroppar byggda i ett L, hus A och B. De har 7 våningar ovan mark. Idag finns det även ett hus C som ska rivas och byggas om.
När bygget kommer igång ska det bli en huskropp C som går på diagonalen mellan hus A och B. Även hus C ska ha 7 våningar ovan jord.
Från hus C ska det gå en passage till hus D. Hus D kommer bli en byggnad som består av 4 huskroppar byggda i en kvadrat. Hus D kommer få 9 våningar ovan mark.
Den totala byggnadsvolymen (inkl nuvarande hus A och B) kommer bli 65 900 kvm ovan jord.
Blivande hyresgäster kommer bli Polismyndigheten, Ekobrottsmyndigheten, Domstolsverket, Kriminalvården, Säkerhetspolisen och Åklagarmyndigheten.

This district includes the police head quarters and custody building.
The house that can be found on Malmgatan 1 was built in 1909-1910 and used to house Malmös folkbadhus [public swimming baths].

What about the future?
Right now, the big car park in front of the Police Head Quarters has been closed awaiting the start of the build of Rättscentrum [Centre of Justice]. A building plan that has hit some bumps on the way as it has been appealed several times.
The Police HQ currently consists of two buildings in an L shape, House A and House B. They both have 6 stories above ground. There is also a House C, which will be torn down and rebuilt. When it gets underway, the new House C will be built diagonally between houses A and B. House C will also be 6 stories tall.
From House C there will be a passage to House D. House D will consists of structures built in the shape of a square. House D will be 8 stories tall.
The total volume of building (incl. the current houses A and B) will be 65 900 sqm above ground.
Future tenants will include Polismyndigheten [The Swedish Police], Ekobrottsmyndigheten [Swedish Economic Crime Authority], Domstolsverket [National Courts Administration], Kriminalvården [National Prison and Probation Administration], Säkerhetspolisen [Swedish Security Service] and Åklagarmyndigheten [the regional public prosecution office].
