Lackawanna Choo-Choo View Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Liberty'rents2: Somebody got mower-happy and mowed alongside the pull-off area today, and went way over, completely mowing down the little trees concealing this cache. I drove by today and noticed the trees were mowed over, so I got out to look...no sign of the cache container. Sad, I liked this one! Thanks to all who searched/found it!

Geocache Description:

Easy pull-off , search, and grab. Terrain by roadside does drop off gradually, so use sure footing. Overlooks field.

This cache is located in a spot where, when I was a young girl, you could see remnants and evidence of a type of transportation that really helped create new links within the country and really changed America. My Dad and Mom remember when this still chugged along.

When you pull off to cache search, use stealth! Nosy Muggles peered out their window from a big white and brown house a distance away, as I drove off from the hide. It's also a busy spot at drive time. I can remember sitting in my childhood yard down the road, hoping to see lots of cars go by, and only counting a few per hour. Times have sure changed. This road acts as a shortcut now, so be careful to pull off on the pulloff spot that's easy to see, close to GZ.

Be on the lookout for walking Muggles occaisionally, too.

Someone in a wheelchair could watch from the road, since it's quite close.

Container you are looking for is a regular-size coffee can, cammo, of course. At hide, it contained lots of trade items, including new batteries, matches, a spiced wood scented candle melt, a few other items of use, a couple kid things, and...$5.00 for the lucky FTF! :D, as well as log pad and pen.

Make sure you take in the view from this spot. This very famous area and its "DEPOT" and track were built in the 1880's. I was proud to live just down the road from it when I was little. Ladybug and Butterfly Guy know what I mean. :-)

Have fun caching!
