Donchery est un village ardennais de 2400
habitants environ, situé à 150 mètres d’altitude en moyenne.
Le village se trouve sur une boucle de la Meuse, à quelques
kilomètres à l'ouest de la commune de Sedan. Ses habitants sont
appelés Doncherois et Doncheroises ou aussi Foyans et Foyanes.
En 1992, avec l’aide de la région
Champagne-Ardenne et du conseil général du département, les quatre
communes de Cheveuges, Sedan, Villers-sur-bar et Donchery décident
d’ériger une table d’orientation sur le sentier du
domaine de la Croix-Piot. Située à 265 mètres d’altitude,
celle-ci permet aujourd’hui de faire bénéficier les visiteurs
d’un joli point de vue. Quelques mètres plus loin, le domaine
de la Croix-Piot est accessible. On y trouve une chapelle et une
croix entourées d’arbres et de végétation. Cet espace est
inscrit au patrimoine historique et touristique.

Pour se rendre à l’endroit de la cache, il
est possible de garer son véhicule sur le petit parking, en
N 49°41.200’ - E 004°52.309’. Il est
ensuite nécessaire d’emprunter le sentier pédestre sur une
distance d’environ 150 mètres en direction de la table
d’orientation située en N 49°41.139’ - E
004°52.215’. Enfin, pour accéder au domaine et se
rapprocher de la cache, il est nécessaire de poursuivre la marche
vers le point suivant, en N 49°41.073’ - E
004°52.332’. Attention à ne pas être aperçu à
l’endroit de la cache car il y a parfois des promeneurs.

Donchery is a quiet village of 2,400
inhabitants, located 150 meters above sea level on average. The
village lies on a bend of the Meuse a few kilometers to the west of
the town of Sedan. The inhabitants are called Doncherois and
Doncheroises or Foyans and Foyanes.
In 1992, with the help of the Champagne-Ardenne
region and the general council of the department, the four common
