Geocache Description:

A perfect Pirates treasure -- an easy find and hike even for the little ones.

Pirates Landing

Tully Lake is located on the East Branch of the Tully River in Royalston, Massachusetts, and is a part of a network of flood damage reduction dams on tributaries of the Connecticut River. Constructed between 1947 and 1949 at a cost of $1.6 million, it was first operated during the New Year's Flood of 1949 before it was completed. Its function is to reduce flood stages in Athol, Orange and other communities along the Millers River, and in conjunction with other Corps dams, reduce flooding. The placement of this cache is under the supervision of the Tully Lake Park Manager, who has approved an indefinite permit. (visit link)

Pirates Landing is dedicated to our wonderful neighbors -- the Packard Pirates. The only people we know who frequently fly a Jolly Roger from their flagstaff at nearby Packard Pond.

It is our hope that Pirates of all ages, especially the little ones, will enjoy this cache. We would like to maintain the Pirate theme. If you trade, try to keep the theme going if at all possible. We have a small collection of Pirate Geocoins that we will slowly disseminate thru this cache. Please keep the coins moving.

Please rehide the cache carefully to prevent its being found by Muggles.

The cache is a black plastic cannonball attached by chain to a Black Pelican Geocache case (with see thru lid) measuring 7x5x3 inches. See gallery picture for the original contents of this cache.

Parking is available on both sides of Doanes Hill Road just east of the access trail at N 42 39.172 W 072 12.886
