History:
Cochno was the seat of a family of a branch of the Hamilton family
from as early as the middle of the 16th century. Cochno estate
house was designed by the architect John Adam and built around 1757
to replace an earlier house erected by the Hamiltons of Cochno. It
was then extended in 1842. The house is a deep-plan, seven-bay
pavillion roofed of classical distinction.
