One of several caches we hid along the walking paths and campgrounds of Chisago City's Ojiketa Regional Park. Caches are close to the trails so no need to cut through the woods. Stay on the trails and they will lead you around the park and to the caches. Long pants and bug spray a MUST. Mosquitoes are plenty.
This park was opened to the public in September of 2009. Previous to the purchase of Camp Ojiketa by the city, the property was a campsite for Camp Fire Girls since 1926. The park includes 70 acres of oak forest and marshes, many feet of Green Lake shoreline, and picturesque buildings. Its wildlife includes bald eagles, common loons, owls, downy woodpeckers, wild turkey, deer, red fox, and of course an abundance of squirrels. The park is open for walkers to use the trails. Eventually the park will expand to include camping, fishing, and water sports. Have fun and enjoy the park.
