Geocache Description:

Sited close to Ropewalk, this cache should be readily accessible but it is at ground level. This is a popular area for muggles to chill out and can be busy on sunny days especially at weekends so please use stealth when retrieving and replacing the cache. You may also come across fishermen at night so pick your moment wisely.

Surrounding the old centre of Sandwich is a delightful walkway that follows the old town wall. Starting at the Butts you can walk along a tree-lined path next to the old moat/ditch along Ropewalk and Millwalk till you reach the Bulwark taking in 2 other caches from this series along the way.

Originally, the defences seen at the Bulwark would have extended around the whole town, but at Ropewalk these constructions were flattened out and thereafter, this long flat stretch was used by rope makers to walk out the strands as they were braided together to make rope. Just beyond Ropewalk is Millwalk, so named because of the 3 windmills that were sited here until the late 1800’s.

You are looking for a cylindrical tube 4x1 inches - please replace into its holder.
