Geocache Description:

Adjacent to public road over cobbles. You need to pretend to be getting your photo taken.

This anchor situated at the beginning of the High Street of Invergordon and is part of the heritage of the area. The Cromarty Firth was a deep water anchorage for naval ships during the first and second world wars and is now used for repair and parking up of oil rigs. The last mutiny in the navy also took place here in 1931. Invergordon has recently become a regular visiting port for large liners with more information being found on the local community website.
