Wow, what can I say?!?! I was a little surprised and overwhelmed at the number of people who turned out for this event this year. We counted 75 names in the logbook, but I know many of those names had multiple family members with them, so I am reasonably certain we hit the 100 mark for the first time on this event (which also means we need to look for a bigger venue next year!).
Thanks SO much to all of those who helped out, whether it was with setting up, cleaning up, donating raffle items, monetary contributions, etc. I'd love to name everyone, but I would most definitely forget someone, so I'll keep myself out of trouble by not doing so. A special thanks to TazD though, for putting out the kids' event cache in spite of the fact he had to go out of town and didn't even attend. The cache was fun and all the kids enjoyed it.
The final tally for the raffle was $438, and due to the generosity of an anonymous donor who paid for the shelter rental and the donations of all the raffle items, we will be giving all of that money to a local charity. Between your donations and the leftover, unopened food items, we also had quite a lot of food and toys/gifts to donate, so thank you to everyone who brought something for that, as well.
