This looks as though it used to be a campsite, but was destroyed by
a fire. You will also find a year-round spring here. The map in
your geepers and the topo map on this website both say that this is
about .3 miles away, but, after bushwacking down there, we found
this not to be the case. It's pretty slippery, with some
overgrowth. I guess we should have stayed on the trail.
You will be looking for a peanut butter jar hidden in a pretty
easy manner.
Bikes and dogs are both allowed, but I strongly advise against
bringing either of them due to the trail being very narrow, almost
nonexistent in some places, and several fallen trees across the
trail. But I'll leave that descision up to you.
