From Askham View, finish the path to the bench, then left up to
the corner of the castle wall. On the N face is a grand
door. Turn right, south, along the large track as it gently
descends down to the river Lowther. Great views across the
old parkland and many ancient trees line the way. Not all of
them still survive. The cache is just over 5km from
Clifton.
Alternatively, at the bench, turn right and drop down to the
river, turn left (south) on the low path which joins the main track
further along.
