Castillo de Cieza (S. XII-XIV). 250m de recorrido bastan para superar tranquilamente el desnivel de unos 50m desde la explanada adyacente a la ermita para llegar a lo más alto del Cerro del Castillo. No existe un sendero definido.

Salir de Cieza por la carretera de Mula (C-330) atravesando el Segura por el Puente de Hierro (o "de los 9 ojos"), a unos 3,3Km (antes del estrechamiento del "Puente Meco") hay un desvío de la carretera a hacia la izquierda (señalizado "Camino de la Atalaya - Santuario Virgen del Buen Suceso"). La carretera es de doble sentido (se ha cortado al tráfico el tramo de bajada que iba rodeando el cerro de la Atalaya). A unos 900m hay una bifurcación, tomaremos el camino de la izquierda. Al final se llega a la zona de aparcamiento del Santuario (bastante amplio) pero se puede continuar hasta casi la base de la Ermita (hay una pequeña rotonda). La zona está preparada para hacer picnic.
El Castillo (o lo que queda de él) se yergue en el cerro situado a la derecha de la Ermita. Las paredes del Norte del cerro se usan habitualmente para prácticas de alpinismo.
Comenzar la ascensión al cerro desde la explanada Oeste de la Ermita. El camino más fácil es ir ascendiendo mientras se circunda el cerro por el Sur, accediendo finalmente al recinto de la alcazaba desde el aljibe (o "Baño de la Reina").
Desde lo alto del cerro podemos disfrutar de las vistas de Cieza y de su huerta bañada por el Segura. Mirando hacia oriente, en el mismo monte del cerro, observamos las excavaciones del caserío (Siyâsa) y, al otro lado del río, los Morrones de Bolvax.
Para completar la visita nada mejor que acercarse a este "Yacimiento Medina Siyâsa", bien bajando desde el cerro, bien volviendo a la zona de picnic y tomando el camino (este sí existe) al efecto.
Para ampliar conocimientos y aprovechar al 100% la jornada resulta casi imprescindible un recorrido posterior en el Museo de Siyâsa en Cieza. Merece la pena.
El Caché es un Tupperware dentro de un saquito de camuflaje.

Cieza's Elevations Series #2
Cieza Castle (XII-XIV Century). 250 m of route is enough to calmly surpass the difference in height of 50 m from the esplanade of the hermitage to this hill. Does not exist a defined footpath.
Follow the C-330 through Cieza towards Mula. After 3,3 km turn left on to the road heading towards "Camino de la Atalaya - Santuario Virgen del Buen Suceso". This is a two-way asphalted road (not showed in my Gamin). About 900m there is a bifurcation: take the left. Go straight until reaching the zone of parking (quite ample, with a picnic zone) or continue a little to the base of the Hermitage (there is a small roundabout and some parking places).
This Castle (or its rests) is raised in the hill located to the right of the Hermitage. The North walls of this hill are used habitually for mountain climbing (alpinism) practices.
To begin the ascent to the hill take the West esplanade of the Hermitage. The easiest way is to ascend while the hill is surrounded by the South to finally arrive to the enclosure of the fortress near the rain tank (or " Queen's Bath").
Besides the rest of the castle, from the hill you can enjoy the views of Cieza and its orchard bathed by "El Segura". Watching towards east you can observe the excavations of the small village (Siyâsa) and, to the other side of the river, the Morrones de Bolvax.
In order to complete the visit nothing better than to approach this archaeological deposit "Medina Siyâsa", either lowering from the hill, or returning to the picnic zone and taking the existing dirt track
The visit (previous or later) to the Museum of Siyâsa in Cieza is very recommendable
The Cache is a Tupperware within a camouflage coat.
