Geocache Description:

The Old Spanish Trail was an important factor in the development of Las Vegas. The springs here were vital for safe passage through the Mojave Desert. The route originated in Santa Fe, New Mexico and terminated in Los Angeles, California. The trail makes a split halfway between Glendale and Mesquite along the Virgin River, which results in two branches traversing the Las Vegas Valley. The Armijo Route enters the valley along the Las Vegas Wash from which was then the Colorado River. It travels through unincorporated Clark County and Henderson and exits through Sloan.

This cache is in a series that will trace the Armijo Route of the Old Spanish Trail through the southern portion of the county. Each of these will be along the route and with available parking nearby.

I had to resort to a few of these.
