Geocache Description:

This is one in a series of caches that we have hidden that will position you so that you can view one of Modesto's historical landmarks or points of interest after the find.
Cords listed are for the cache, not the landmark.

A 1916 meeting of the Native Sons of the Golden West was commemorated by the planting of this Australian native. Gardeners are warned to wear gloves around it, because its sharped-edged spines can draw blood. It is also known to drop 10 to 20 pound seed pods that can cause damage to cars or people...OUCH! This 110 foot specimen has a large, protective shrub planter around the base for the protection of visitors. You will see it straight ahead of you as you drive up 15th toward Needham.
Cache is a log only, so BYOP.
