In your former days of
glory,
You held a pot of gold,
You stayed safely tucked away,
and were not left in the cold.
Your life of stealth
enjoyment,
Now has been replaced,
With a new generation vessel,
Something others can embrace.
With little deeds of
mischief,
and the matching of some wit,
You led a noble life,
You made it all legit.
Basking in the moonlight,
and hiding in the flowers,
Your weeks were so carefree,
though some days seemed like months.
Under shades of subtle
green,
Hidden, waiting for a smile,
Your days of multi-moments,
Were really quite worthwhile.
As we zeroed in on the perfect
place to hide our cache, we bumped up against a crusty old
container with peeling camo paint and a fading www.geocaching.com
on the outside. The vessel was empty except for a tattered info
sheet. Although the paper had mostly disintegrated, we were able to
decipher the words "... end of the multi-cache", "trains", and
"Lafayette/Moraga Trail". Since the container looked like a relic
from bygone years, we figured there was a good chance it had been
archived. Hmmmm...being the geogeeks that we are, we checked out
the archived caches of seasoned cachers in the area and came across
“GCGJ39”, a mult-cache with a railroad theme that was archived on
March 15, 2005. Checked the coords on GoogleEarth and it matched
the location – WOOT!
With great reverence, we placed
our new cache here and took the old one home with us. If the
original owner would like the container back, please let us know
via e-mail. The new cache is a large camoed micro, big enough to
hold a few very small trade items. Bring your own pen. Note that
the parking lot closes after sunset and the Lafayette/Moraga Trail
is open from 5:30 am to 10:00 pm. Replace the cache with a little
natural camo on top – enjoy the rest of the trail.
Congrats to rohrerboy for the
FTF!
