Geocache Description:

This cache is for those kids who don't like the smaller hides and for those adults who like to reach into dark places....

Nelson Ledges is a favorite local spot for my son and I to go with our rat terrier, Kit. It is also known as Nelson-Kennedy State Park. Parking is provided across the street at 41 19.724N and 81 02.340W. Please be very careful while in the park. The terrain can be difficult in places and there are cliffs and drop offs. I've rated this hide the way it is because, depending on where you start your search, you can travel over all kinds of terrain. You'll see spray painted spots of color around you. White is for easy, blue or yellow for moderate and red for challenging. Go for red if you can! In some places along the red you must step over openings and some are quite a distance above the ground. If you are uncomfortable with heights, than you might want to reconsider that route! There are trails all over the park and they cross over each other.

I found my hide starting from two places inside the park. I got to it one way via a red trail and another on a white. The cache is hidden near where two of these trails meet.

When you near the coordinates, either way you arrive, look for two "Love Trees"; trees which have been carved with people's affections over the years. One is closer to a white trail, the other a red. You don't need to go under any obstacles. You do need to step over a small crevice, But there are spots where the rocks are connected. If you see the log with a peace signed carved into it, you're too far to the right. Go back to the left about 30 feet, to the left of the steel guard rails.

Take your time, enjoy what Mother Nature has done in this place and be discreet as this park is very popular, especially with teenagers. Please bring a trash bag with you to help keep this wonderful place clean, and it also keeps curious eyes off of you!

If the FTF or subsequent hunters find my ratings too easy/hard or think the location could be better, please let me know. This is my first hide.

Please be careful and let your older kids have some fun with this one. It's for them!
