Approach The Bench Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

mellers: After some concerns from a recent finder that there might be two containers, I went to check on GZ - and couldn't find even one. This has been moved again (or removed) and some suspicious tidying up activity nearby suggests to me that I'm on a hiding to nothing with this particular location. I think it's time to archive this listing. Thanks to all who visited.

Geocache Description:

The above co-ordinates are not the location of the final cache. This is an easy, off-set micro cache in an urban area. It is a 35mm film canister which contains a log. There is a pay & display car park adjacent to the building found at the above coordinates which can also be used for the starting point of Dog Paddle GCTKMC. Please exercise discretion when retrieving and replacing the final cache to minimise muggle discovery.

This building is actually 2 buildings joined together. The Arts Centre side was built in 1870 and was used as a drill hall before becoming the Town Hall for Havant & Waterlooville Urban District Council. The Museum side was built in 1874 and purchased by the council in 1946. Both are part of the Havant Heritage Trail. Vacated by the council who moved to the new Civic Centre Offices in 1977, the combined building was transformed in to the Havant Arts Centre and Museum. In that year the centre also became the new home of the Bench Theatre Company, Havant's own theatre company since 1969.

Team mellers spends a lot of time here what with one thing and other, and it is appropriate that a place which has become very important to me was refurbished, revamped and relaunched around the same time as I placed my first cache .

Relaunched as The Spring Arts and Heritage Centre on 2nd October 2009, the modified centre includes important archives from the old Havant Museum and is a focal point for arts and culture within the Borough.

The coordinates are not those of the final cache. This is an off-set cache. Solve these clues (the answers for which can be found within 40 metres of the above co-ordinates) to obtain the co-ordinates of the final cache which is less than a mile away.
