Go south on Lake Mary road apx. 25 miles from Hwy 89 - turn left (east) on F.S. Rd. 125 and go 4.3 miles - turn right (south) on F.S. Rd. 82 (Pine Hill will be on your right) - go apx. 1/2 mi to parking/camping area on right - park and enjoy! - Altitude 7,541 ft at the top of Pine Hill. Not too bad of a climb through a beautiful Ponderosa pine and gamble oak forest. There are fantastic views north to the San Francisco Peaks and east to the Hopi mesas.
Ammo can hidden in Malapais rock formation but not too difficult to find - ammo can has a small flat rock on top of it but still visible - contents include Arizona flag bandana, two Alaska pins, two Alaska decals, a compass, a knife, a thermometer with magnifying glass and compass, and American flag pin, a Grand Canyon magnet, a guardian angel pin, a key chain from Hawaii with the name Dustin on it, and a Vietnam Wall coin. ENJOY!!!
This is our second cache in this location - the first one was stolen. We hope this doesn't happen again.
