Geocache Description:

Wolftever CreekWalk CITO
Sunday, April 11 @ 1:00pm
Inside of the Wolftever Creek @ Collegedale Greenway

To my knowledge, this is the first CITO event ever held in Collegedale. I could be mistaken, but I sure do not remember one.

By glancing at the geocaching maps, the Collegedale/Ooltewah area is one of the many hotspots for large amounts of geocaches to find. Because of the wide variety and large number available, this area gets visited often by out-of-town-geo-guests. Thus, I feel we are long overdue to make our presence known in a positive way by picking up some trash, and giving the area a fresh look...not just for geocachers, but for the general public as well.

What a better location to display a trash-free Collegedale than at the Collegedale greenway.

The Collegedale greenway is a highlight for anyone local to this area. This 2-mile stretch of sidewalk takes hikers from the Imagination Station playground, through the Veterans Memorial Park, under Ooltewah-Ringgold Road, across the Wolftever Creek, past the campus of Southern Adventist University, before ending at the Nature Nook near the intersection of Apison Pike & Tallent Rd.

HERE IS HOW THE CITO EVENT WILL WORK:
The City of Collegedale has done an outstanding job keeping the greenway liter-free. At first glance, one may wonder why have a CITO event when the place is so beautiful?

Well, the answer lies behind the scenes. The greenway has some places where people like hardcore geocachers do not mind venturing....those hard-to-reach-kind-of-places. To attend this event, you should be willing to get a little dirty and WET. Why? Because this event will take place in the water!!!

We will meet at the posted coordinates @ 1:00pm. Trash bags will be available, and then everyone should head for the CREEK! We will start at the Apison Pike underpass, and pick up trash in the Wolftever Creek all the way to the Veterans Park.

Be sure to wear pants/shorts you do not mind getting dirty/wet. The water level should not be higher than the knees...unless we get another major flood, which would ultimately cause this event to get canceled.

ONCE AGAIN.....I REPEAT.....this event will be a creekwalk. The log sheet will only be available for your John Hancock from within the boundaries of the Wolftever Creek.

SEE YA THERE!!!!

Thanks for coming....it was a lot of fun!
