This is another cache in what may become a series of caches dedicated to marking those spots where Bigfoot has been spotted in Southern Indiana. Just plug the posted coordinates into Google Earth and you’ll see a little icon with a link to a webpage that details an actual Bigfoot sighting by a Spencer County resident near the posted coordinates in the summer of 1968. Or you can click on the Related Web Page link above (just below the cache size) to view said webpage. You’ll be glad you did.
For good reason, the cache is not hidden at the actual spot of the sighting. That would simply be too dangerous. Instead, the cache is hidden a safe distance away. From ground zero, though, you can look south to see the approximate spot of the actual sighting. A cell tower now stands where Bigfoot once stood some 40-odd years ago.
Given the relative proximity of an active railroad line and the new portion of Highway 231 being routed through this area, it’s possible that Bigfoot may still roam these parts. If, while searching for this cache, you should happen to see Bigfoot, please post all details of any such sightings in your log.
The cache itself is a magnetic micro. Traffic can move quickly in this area, so please be careful when you park and retrieve the cache. Good luck and have fun!
