Geocache Description:

The park borders private property but it’s not fenced or clearly marked. If it feels like you’re in someone’s yard, you probably are. There is no need to step out of the park to get to the cache.

Please respect the area and the neighbors’ privacy.

This is my first try at releasing a cache into the wild. Cache is a small PB jar swathed in duct tape and stuffed with treasures. Room for assorted swag and small travelables. It should be winter-friendly.

The Seven Nations Natural Area is a modest little mixed woodland and prairie park with a bench or two. It’s part of a bigger area that used to be known as Tonkawood Farm. In the early 1990s tipis went up around here with Common Ground, a summer jobs program for native youth. It included an organic garden and spiritual camp (visit link) In 1993 I stopped by one of their public events with my sons, and remember the hospitality and delicious food to this day. In 1994 the property owners sold the land, and this remnant was designated a natural area soon after.
